Introduction
Ibadah keeps your data on your phone, has no accounts and no ads, and sends only what each feature needs to the services named below.
This policy covers the Ibadah app for Android (package com.isuitedesign.ibadah), published by isuitedesign ("we"). It takes effect on 16 October 2026.
What stays on your phone
Your settings, bookmarks, notes, collections, reading history and plans, Hifz progress and recordings, zikir counts, achievements and the notification inbox are stored only on your phone. We run no server that receives them, and you do not need an account to use the app.
- Recitation checking runs on the phone. Your recordings are never uploaded; they leave the phone only when you share one.
- Backups you export are
.ibadahfiles saved where you choose. They are not sent anywhere unless you send them. - Android device backup may include the app's data if you have it turned on in your phone's settings. That is handled by Google under your Android account, not by us.
Your location and where it is sent
The app uses your location only to show prayer times, weather, air quality and nearby masjids. It uses your phone's own place lookup to find your JAKIM prayer zone. Location is never sent to us, and you can choose a zone or place by hand instead.
| Service | What is sent | Why |
|---|---|---|
| JAKIM e-Solat | Your zone code, not your coordinates | Prayer timetables |
| Open-Meteo | Your coordinates, or a place you search for | Weather, air quality, place search |
| data.gov.my (MET Malaysia) | The code of the nearest forecast area, not your coordinates | Weather forecast in Malaysia |
| api.waqi.info (World Air Quality Index) | Coordinates rounded to about 1 km, and an app key that identifies the app, not you | Nearest air-quality station in Malaysia |
| solat.my | Nothing about you: the whole masjid list is downloaded about once a week | Masjid directory |
| api.masjidnear.me | Coordinates rounded to about 1 km | Nearby masjids and surau |
| A public Overpass API server (OpenStreetMap) | Coordinates rounded to about 1 km | Nearby masjids and surau |
| Google Places | Coordinates rounded to about 1 km | Nearby masjids and surau |
Nearby-masjid answers are kept on the phone for up to a week, so the same search is not repeated. Each service handles requests under its own privacy policy.
Quran content and audio
Translations, Mushaf pages and fonts, daily readings, and recitation and azan audio are downloaded when you ask for them and kept on the phone. These requests carry no personal information beyond what any internet request carries, such as your IP address.
They come from the Quran Foundation API (quran.foundation), quran.com, EveryAyah, QuranicAudio and UmmahAPI.
Google sign-in and Google Drive backup
Google sign-in is optional and used only for the Ayat Planner and, if you connect it, Google Drive backup. We receive your Google account's name, email address and profile picture to show which account is connected; we do not use them for anything else.
Google Drive backup. If you connect Google Drive, backups are uploaded to a hidden app folder in your own Drive. The app asks only for Google's drive.appdata permission, which lets Ibadah see the files it created and nothing else in your Drive.
- Nothing is uploaded unless you tap Back up now or turn on Automatic backup.
- The 5 newest backups are kept; older ones are deleted.
- Backups are stored in your Google account, not on our servers. We cannot read them.
- Disconnect in the app at any time. Your backups stay in your Drive, and you can remove the app's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Ibadah's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Usage statistics
Anonymous usage statistics go to Google Firebase Analytics to help us improve the app. You can turn this off in Settings → Data and storage → Share anonymous usage statistics.
- Collected: which screens are opened and for how long, which features are used, the app version, phone model, Android version and language, and a rough area (country or city) that Google works out from the internet connection.
- Tied to: a random app ID that resets if you reinstall, not to you or your Google account.
- Never collected: your name, email, GPS location, zone, notes, bookmarks or anything you type.
The app shows no ads and does not collect the advertising ID. Ad personalisation is turned off.
Feedback, permissions and contact
Feedback. Feedback you send from the app goes to a Google Form we own, with the app version, Android version and phone model. An email address is included only if you type one in.
Permissions. The app asks for location (prayer zone, weather, masjids), notifications (azan and reminders), exact alarms (azan on time), the microphone (Hifz recordings and recitation checking, only when you start them) and internet access. You can refuse or withdraw any of them in your phone's settings; the features that need them stop working.
Children. The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices. Delete the app's data by clearing its storage or uninstalling it. Delete Drive backups by disconnecting and removing the app's access in your Google account, or ask us to help.
Changes. We will update this page and its date when the policy changes.
